VS30 is an analogue preamplifier for all common signal sources, be it digital (due to the integrated D-A-converter), analogue, symmetrical (balanced) or single-ended. Signal processing inside the VS30 is strictly balanced, making it the ideal control center for a fully balanced audio system. The high and stable output drive enables long cable runs to the power amplifier with zero phase-shift across the entire frequency spectrum.
3x analogue inputs, 4x digital inputs, 2x analogue outputs
All essential functions can be controlled both on the unit and with the included remote control. The easy-to-read display and user-friendly menu facilitate operation even from the listening position. Additionally, the stereo balance and various DAC filter settings can be adjusted using the remote control.
The USB input requires no drivers, not even for the Windows operating system. PCM 384 kHz and DSD 256 playback can be achieved with any operating system.
The volume control circuit is simultaneously fully symmetrical and VHF suitable, since the characteristic impedance of the attenuation ladder arrangement matches the characteristic impedance of the microstrip differential signal pair used in the entire amplifier. Therefore, the sound of the VS30 remains exactly the same, no matter what volume is set.
Adhering to our sophisticated design principles and further refining the components, the new flagship ES9039PRO converter now handles digital-to-analog conversion. Innovative circuitry ensures spectacular music without disturbing artifacts. The ES9039PRO has 8x integrated DACs which use ESS patented Hyperstream® IV DAC architecture. The audio signal is then passed to our proprietary discrete analog circuits. The DAC card can be upgraded at any time, should this be necessary or appropriate.
Fast transient response – ultra-wide bandwidth. The rise time for a 2 V step is only 35 ns. That's incredibly fast. 2 V is almost enough to achieve the full swing of a downstream power amplifier. Bandwidth equals speed, and vice versa. In this case, it's a whopping 3.5 MHz. So the VS30 is truly ultra-wideband; 175 times faster than the audio bandwidth. Some might consider this technical overkill, but it isn't! The result is more transparency, less graininess, and more music.
